Mental Health Awareness 2025 update

The construction industry can be a fast paced and stressful environment, with the mindset of toughness, where workers can sometimes endure physical and mental strain without showing vulnerability; some may feel they can’t seek help or open up about their struggles.

At GTH Construction we are trying to break that stigma by training some members of staff to be Mental Health First Aiders and Champions, as well as investing in an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).

An EAP is designed to support employees and their families with personal and work-related challenges, from mental health issues and stress management to financial and legal advice.

Staff have 24-hour, free access to a range of resources to support their health and wellbeing.  In addition, all employees receive a monthly newsletter that highlights key health and wellbeing topics, fosters open conversations in the workplace, and helps to challenge stigma and prejudice, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

This year’s Mental Health Awareness week will be spent encouraging our workforce to come together, talk and have fun. Team building is a great way to improve mental health, it gives employees an opportunity to socialise and get to know one another better. This can help reduce stress and promote a more positive workplace.
